ABOUT ME
Asia Rollins is currently a reporter for The Post and Courier covering Spartanburg County. In the nearly two years that Asia has been in Spartanburg, she’s written stories on small businesses, development, education, revitalization initiatives, arts and entertainment.
Through journalism, Asia hopes to be a voice for the voiceless. She strives to be a community storyteller who values accuracy, fairness and impactful stories.
As a way to strengthen her connection with the Spartanburg community, Asia serves as a board member for Speaking Down Barriers. The nonprofit aims to make society more equitable and hosts trainings and events across Upstate South Carolina. She also serves as a board member for the Upstate South Carolina Chapter of the National Hampton Alumni Association, Incorporated.
Before moving to South Carolina, Asia graduated from Hampton University’s Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications. While in college, Asia has worked on the editorial team for Street Sense Media, an organization that offers employment opportunities to D.C.'s homeless population. She wrote and edited stories for the organization’s bi-weekly newspaper.

Asia first saw her stories in print while writing for The Omaha Star, a newspaper in Nebraska that focuses on uplifting the North Omaha community. During her time at the Star, she wrote articles, planned events and was a member of the Mildred D. Brown Memorial Study Center’s Junior Journalist Program.
